We welcome Asheville Yoga Festival presenter/musician Brad Ellsworth of Druminyasa® and Addie Jo Bannerman to Hot Yoga Asheville for a unique event combining Yin yoga with Live Drumming, dubbed “drum.YIN.yasa.”
Come join us for a 90 minute Yin to Live Drumming experience connecting rhythm of breath and heartbeat to the drums. Yin yoga brings us back to our Taoist roots through meditation. Yin yoga balances the mental and physical body by stretching the connective tissues to increase pranic flow, or energy flow of the body. Holding stillness in Yin postures creates a strong meditative practice, strengthening and releasing tension in the physical and mental body.
The hypnotic soundscapes and percussive rhythms from Druminyasa will allow practitioners to free their minds from distractions when holding these postures (typically held between 2-5 minutes), allowing participants to go even deeper into their meditative state. The beat of the drums will call in good energy, clear out bad energy, and put you in a shamanic trance.
As featured on CBS “Try out Druminyasa for a one-of-a-kind yoga experience,” and The Washington Times and appearing at festivals (Asheville Yoga Festival, Wanderlust and Floyd Yoga Jam), studios and special events, Brad Ellsworth of Druminyasa has been playing drums and percussion for over 25 years. A yoga practitioner and teacher, Brad founded Druminyasa by connecting his love for rhythm, drums and movement.
